BARCELONA TAPAS: open air rooftop restaurant known for breathtaking views a great sunset option. Spanish menu with Tapas & Paella, live music some nights

Location is hillside above north end of Malecon, Calle Matamoras 906.  The taxi drivers know it

DAQUIRI DICKS ON THE BEACH: the best of the classic Daquiri Dicks if you are a long-time fan, with some new details to make you love it even more.  The Menu favorites are still offered with some exciting new options, great service.

EL DORADO: Beachfront open air, Daytime El Dorado, evening the chef from Vista Grill is in the kitchen. Located Beachfront on Los Muertos beach since the mid 1960’s this local icon remains popular.

HACIENDA SAN ANGEL:  Open air, In the Boutique hotel same name, hillside above the Cathedral of Guadalupe in the historic Zone, a must see for décor, spectacular view from the restaurant with Mariachis on Tuesdays and Fridays

LA IGUANA (CASA KIMBERLEY) The hotel is the original home of Elizabeth Taylor when she lived in Puerto Vallarta during filming of The Night of the Iguana, her & Richard Burton had a tumultuous relationship with Richard Burton, they had homes across the street from each other connected by a bridge over the street, a copy of the famous Bridge of Sighs in Venice. Puerto Vallarta was very popular with the mid 1960’s Jetset, with many Hollywood celebrities having homes in this area.

VEGETARIAN PLANET: one of the first dedicated Vegetarian Restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, offering a very impressive buffet option including everything from some of the best Agua Fria made with fresh seasonal fruits/veg etc to Vegan Ceviche a long-time favorite made from soy

Unique location on a side street only accessible by foot, classic old-style décor.  Offers a breakfast buffet or Lunch/dinner closes at 10pm. Address Calle Iturbide # 270 a few blocks from the cathedral of Guadalupe up the stairs.

THE GREEN PLACE: Menu includes Veggie Burgers, lots of great smoothies, breakfasts and Veggie Nachos to eat in or take out.  Location in 5 de Dic Calle Honduras #309

ADVENTURE FOOD SCENE: taco stands, Taco Tours and much more

PEPE’S TACO’S: 9 blocks North of the Malecon, with a breathtaking view of the gas station.  The food is famous, especially the grilled tacos al pastor and al carbon with the best in fresh salsas & handmade tortillas. Basic bar, no desserts, just great tacos. Open 4pm to 4am

TAKON MARLIN: PERU 1229 about 9 blocks North of the Malecon, another location in front of the Airport. The best seafood burritos in this part of Mexico with a special green salsa that is the secret recipe of the owner. Open 2-9PM daily except Mondays.

MARISMA: Basilio Badillo & Naranjo in Old Town and in Marina Vallarta. Outdoor street stand making the best fresh ceviche in Vallarta, also known for their shrimp tacos. Serving a variety of seafood including calamari and crab served in a fresh handmade tortilla. Exceptional salsa, be sure to try to the green salsa. Open for lunch only, closed Mondays.
