Puerto Vallarta –great new restaurant Metizo orMeztiso, or something like that. Located on Pino Suarez near Lazereo Cardenas park and The Park condominiums in Romantic zone of Puerto Vallarta. The restaurant came so highly recommended that a friend who had dinner there the previous night was willing to return. His main motivation was to order the Tuna Tartar to have all for himself instead of sharing. It is a restaurant that encourages sharing. We were a table of non sharing friends, but we did all have a taste of all of the different options.
The Tuna Tartar is amazing – that will be my choice when I return. I had the jumbo shrimp with cherry tomatoes and Thyme – they were great. The Vegan menu items were amazing. Fabulous crafted cocktails. A Margarita with a yellow chile was a perfect combination of picante and lime. I had a great cucumber lemonade – also great. The décor is edgy – very grey and block, very simple contemporary lines, but it does not feel urban as they used Black Oaxaca potter light covers and hand woven Acapulco chairs in black. The owner advised they have another restaurant in San Miguel de Allende. Friends at the table were going to SMDA and promised to check it out and give a report.
